Short Bio
When I was 15, I was fortunate enough to take watercolor classes from Jane Law, a well-known local artist. She lit a spark in me and although my interest in painting never went away, other things came up and I wasn’t able to continue practicing. Later in life, when I had more time, I decided to give it another try. I dabbled in oils on the weekend and found that I loved the forgiving nature of oils and the results I achieved in that medium. It took another 11 years, before my retirement afforded me the time to begin exploring other mediums; happy to finally have the freedom to try everything. Now, lacking a formal education in art and a passion for all mediums, I am drawn to the Naïve art genre. Having been a big fan of Anna Mary Robertson Moses and her stunning folk art, I look forward to trying to follow her fearlessness. Grandma Moses arrived late to her painting and now at 70, I am ready to be more than just inspired. This is my art journey. I have just begun.
